GEORGIA’S PINES
LIBRARIES TO UPDATE
STATE-WIDE CATALOG
SYSTEM
The Elbert County
Library, along with
all state-wide PINES
library users, will
begin using
Evergreen, an
updated computerized
catalog system on
September 5. The
new, web-based PINES
catalog will feature
book covers,
reviews, tables of
contents and a
variety of
easy-to-use searches
that will allow
library users to
locate materials
quickly and
efficiently
throughout the
system.
Current PINES
library cards will
not change, and
users will not have
to register for new
cards to continue
using the system
either at the
Library or from
their home
computers. The new
website for home
access is:
www.gapines.org.
Users will continue
to use their same
PINES Personal
Information Number
(PIN).
PINES is a
state-wide
consortium comprised
of 252 public
libraries in 123
counties, offering
Georgia citizens a
shared catalog of
more than 8 million
items, with a single
library card that is
welcomed in all
member libraries.
There are more than
1.6 million
registered
cardholders in the
PINES system.
PINES allows users
to request print
material from any
PINES library, and
it will be shipped
to a pick-up library
of their choice.
This service is
available free of
charge. For more
information on using
PINES from home or
to find out your PIN
call the Library at
